TEFL Specialization: Teaching English to Young Learners

Structure

15 hours of 100% online, self paced training designed to complement the 120-hour TEFL certification course. Each module includes video content, supplementary materials, and a final knowledge test.

Curriculum

Build a sophisticated toolkit for the modern classroom, moving beyond "ABC" basics to understand how children actually acquire language in a globalized world.

Module 1: Childhood Development and Psychology

Explore the internal mechanisms of how children grow. Compare Piaget and Vygotsky’s theories to tailor your instruction to a child’s natural cognitive and linguistic evolution.

Module 2: The Global and Contextual Landscape

Reframe English instruction for the 21st century. Learn to use "Translanguaging" and Multimodal literacy to help diverse learners build borderless identities.

Module 3: Modern Lesson Design

Bridge the gap between theory and practice. Move from rigid "PPP" models to the fluid ESA (Engage, Study, Activate) framework to keep young learners engaged and motivated.

Module 4: Building Vocabulary and Grammar

Learn to move language from the page into the student's active mental lexicon using high-frequency word strategies, games, and Concept Checking Questions (CCQs).

Module 5: Developing the Four Skills

Master the pillars of Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. Learn to nurture "Interlanguage" and act as a facilitator as students transition from understanding to producing language.

Module 6: Classroom Management and Motivation

Design the physical and psychological architecture of your room. Establish routines and move students from extrinsic rewards toward genuine, intrinsic motivation.
