Terms and Conditions of Use
By accessing the OISE University of Toronto TEFL course (hereafter “OISE TEFL”) you agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions of Use outlined in this website, all applicable laws and regulations, and agree that you are responsible for compliance with any applicable local laws. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing OISE TEFL course materials. The materials contained in this web site are protected by applicable copyright and trade mark law.
2. User License
- Users are granted permission to temporarily download one copy of the materials (information or software) from OISE TEFL website for personal, non-commercial transitory viewing only. This is the grant of a license, not a transfer of title. Under this license you may not:
- modify or copy the materials;
- use the materials for any commercial purpose, or for any public display (commercial or non-commercial);
- attempt to decompile or reverse engineer any software contained on the OISE TEFL website;
- remove any copyright or other proprietary notations from the materials; or
- transfer the materials to another person or “mirror” the materials on any other server.
- This license shall automatically terminate if any of these restrictions are violated and may be terminated by OISE TEFL at any time. Upon terminating your viewing of these materials, or upon the termination of this license, you must destroy any downloaded materials in your possession, whether in electronic or printed format.
The materials on OISE TEFL’s website are provided “as is”. OISE TEFL makes no warranties, expressed or implied, and hereby disclaims and negates all other warranties, including, without limitation, implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of intellectual property or other violation of rights. Further, OISE TEFL does not warrant or make any representations concerning the accuracy, likely results, or reliability of the use of the materials on its Internet website or otherwise relating to such materials or on any sites linked to this site.
In no event shall OISE TEFL or its suppliers be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of data or profit, or due to business interruption,) arising from the use or inability to use the materials on OISE TEFL’s website, even if OISE TEFL or an OISE TEFL authorized representative has been notified orally or in writing of the possibility of such damage. Because some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties, or limitations of liability for consequential or incidental damages, these limitations may not apply to you.
5. Revisions and Errata
The materials appearing on OISE TEFL’s website could include technical, typographical, or photographic errors. OISE TEFL does not warrant that any of the materials on its website are accurate, complete, or current. OISE TEFL may make changes to the materials contained on its website at any time without notice. OISE TEFL does not, however, make any commitment to update the materials.
OISE TEFL has not reviewed all of the sites linked to its Internet website and is not responsible for the contents of any such linked site. The inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement by OISE TEFL of the site. Use of any such linked website is at the user’s own risk.
7. Refund Policy
The OISE TEFL course is provided as an “all-in-one” software package, which means that once enrolment fees are paid, admission to the program is final. Whereas there is no penalty for failing to complete the course once enrolled, if you do not to complete the course, you will not be eligible for a refund of any enrolment or other fees paid. This is in line with existing rules and regulations pertaining to certificate accreditation provided through the University of Toronto, with whom Teach Away is jointly offering OISE TEFL, and with respect to which the course terms are obliged to adhere.
8. Course Expiry
In order to receive the TEFL certificate of completion from OISE at the University of Toronto, you are required to successfully complete all aspects of the OISE TEFL course (including unit-end exams and the final exam) within one year of receiving your course login details from OISE TEFL. If you fail to complete the course within one year, you will not be awarded a certificate of completion and, in accordance with Paragraph 7, will not be eligible for a refund.
OISE TEFL may revise these terms and conditions of use at any time without notice. By using this website, you are agreeing to be bound by any updated version of these Terms and Conditions of Use.
10. Academic Integrity
You are expected to complete my homework assignments, quizzes, and exams independently. You are prohibited from posting assignments, test questions, and course content online. If you are found to have committed plagiarism or posting content online, you will be removed from the course and will not be awarded the OISE TEFL certificate. In accordance with Paragraph 7, no refund will be offered if you are removed from the course.
All students must adhere to the Code of Student Conduct approved by the University of Toronto Governing Council. If you fail to adhere to this policy, you will not receive the OISE TEFL certificate and will be removed from the course. In accordance with Paragraph 7, no refund will be offered if you are removed from the course.
11. Failed Tests
Exams are locked after two failed attempts to ensure that you take the time required to learn everything necessary for the completion of the course. Locked exams cannot be re-accessed for forty-eight hours. After forty-eight hours, you will be able to attempt the exam again. If you are unsuccessful, the exam will be locked for another forty-eight hours, etc.
You must pass each unit-end exam before progressing forward in the course. To receive the certificate, you must pass all six unit-end exams as well as the final exam.
12. Governing Law
Any claim relating to OISE TEFL’s website shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
